Mount Pleasant Volunteer Fire Department Signs 3-year Agreement to Provide Fire Service in Gadsden County

Mount Pleasant, FL – The Mount Pleasant Volunteer Fire Department announced today that they have accepted and signed the 3-year Interlocal Agreement that was presented to the other fire departments throughout Gadsden County.

The Mount Pleasant Volunteer Fire Department has been the lowest funded active fire department in Gadsden County for several years and Fire Chief Clay Fallis stated that “We are pleased with the work that has been done. This funding will continue to help us provide the services that our citizens have come to expect.” The Department received $19,632 a year for the last 2 years and with the new agreement the department will receive $37,500 with an estimated 2% increase in funding, a year, over the course of the agreement which is set to expire September 30, 2027.

The Officers of the Department have worked with the Gadsden County Emergency Services Chief, the Gadsden County Fire Coordinator, and the Board of County Commissioners in good faith to come to an agreement and continue providing fire & rescue services.
